UniStream can I/O can be localy expanded with UniStream I/O modules and local I/O Expansion Kit

You can add one after the final module on the panel. If you don’t want to place any modules on the panel, you can also place it directly next to the CPU. 

We have two types of expansion kits: Short range, with and with out power supply, and Long range with power supply expansion kits.

The short expansion cables, XK-XXXX or XKP-XXXX, can have a maximum distance of 3mts.

Unitronics sells the following lengths:

• 1.25 meters
• 3 meters.

The long expansion cable XKPL-XXXX can have a maximum distance of 40mts.

Unitronics sells the following lengths:

• 6 meters.
• 12 meters.
• 15 meters
• 20 meters
• 30 meters.

Up to five local expansion adapters and up to 85 modules can be daisy-chained according to certain regulations.

• Maximum two (2) consecutive short expansion cables XK-XXXX or XKP-XXXX.
• A single long expansion cable XKPL-XXXX.
• When using a short non-powered XK-XXXX cable, only 8 expansion modules can be used, including those before this cable.
• When using a powered expansion cable, either short XKP-XXXX or long XKPL-XXXX, after that you can add 16 additional modules to those before the expansion kit.
• After a cable without power supply XK-XXXX you can only attach a cable with power supply -XKP-XXXX or XKPL-XXXX-
• With the UniStream 7 ", 10.4" and 15.6 " with these adapters you can reach up to 85 slim modules in total - including those at the back of the panel-  and with the UniStream 5" you can have up to 80 Slim modules.
• The quality of the cable is very important for the immunity of the system. That's why our strict policy is to make the cable here, strictly following materials and technology.

This means that the largest configuration you can have with expansion cables will be: Two (2) short expansion kit + one (1) long expansion kit and two (2) short expansion kits as shown in the following figure.

Please note that if you use the wide modules of 32 I / O points you have to take into account that each of these modules is equivalent to 1.5 times the Slim modules. Therefore there will no longer be 85 modules in total.

Each combination of the second cabinet table can be used with any combination of the first cabinet.
